but by Sunday December 6, 2015 the State Christmas Tree will decorated with lights and festive holiday ornaments from Nebraska’s 93 counties. The 20 foot tall Concolor Fir tree, donated by Stan and Elizabeth Obermueller and the Nebraska Christmas Tree Growers Association will be lit by Governor Pete Ricketts at the Pinewood Bowl, Inc. sponsored Tree Lighting and Carol Sing in the second floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol. Prelude music by Coro Di Flauti will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the program will kickoff at 2:00 p.m. with the Presentation of Colors by American Legion Post #3. Following musical performances by the Harris Academy of the Arts, Coro di Flauti, and the Adams Elementary 5th Grade Choir, Pinewood Bowl President Dr. Tom Blankenau will introduce Governor Ricketts. After Governor Ricketts delivers his Holiday Message, the tree will be lit and those assembled will sing carols to welcome in the holiday season. The event is free and open to the public.
