The 2025 Office of the Capitol Commission ornament commemorates the final phase of the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Window Replacement Project. Now that contractors have moved into the tower, an often missed decorative detail of the tower’s ribbon windows is being highlighted. The 150′ tall ribbon windows in the tower accentuate the height of the building. The bronze windows were designed with horizontal, vertical and upward angled mullions to symbolically appear as the stocks and leaves of tall corn. At the top, in the twelfth floor’s windows, the tassels of the corn stock appear to be constrained by the arched window and bend downward into a circular design. The brass ornament is 3 inches tall and the corn stock mullion design extends forward of the symbolic limestone frame.
