The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on the adoption of amendments to the following regulations: 172 NAC 36 – Practice of Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics and Nail Technology
The proposed changes removes all duplicative statutory language from the regulations and removes any repetitive regulatory language found in 172 NAC 10. The proposed changes move the program of study and curriculum section for Cosmetology, Esthetic, and Nail Technology Schools to 172 NAC 37; remove the requirement to approve continuing education programs; allow a portion of the continuing education hours to be either in person or via electronic media; condense the licensing subsections for simplicity; update definitions; and update formatting.
172 NAC 37 – Cosmetology, Esthetic, and Nail Technology Schools, Satellite Classrooms, and Apprentice Salons
The proposed changes removes all duplicative statutory language from the regulations and removes any repetitive regulatory language found in 172 NAC 9. The proposed changes remove the fees included in Chapter 37, as these fees are found in 172 NAC 2; replaces the language to relate to Schools of Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technology, Satellite Classrooms, and Apprentice Salons; updates language relating to the program of study and curriculum, currently found in 172 NAC 36; outline the equipment, records, and documents required to teach cosmetology, esthetics, and nail technology; and update formatting.
