The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on the adoption of amendments to and repeal of the following regulations.
The following regulation is proposed for AMENDMENT:
172 NAC 15 – Licensure of Alcohol and Drug Counselors
The proposed changes remove all duplicative statutory language from the regulations and removes any repetitive regulatory language that is found in 172 NAC 10. The proposed changes also update definitions; revise supervision to include interactive video conferencing; update unprofessional conduct; modify continuing education requirements to include the removal of the maximum hours that are allowed per continuing education program type and update the names of organizations that are considered acceptable providers of continuing education; require a fee for review of applications from educational providers; include the passing score on the examination and remove the requirement for an oral examination as condition of licensing; set out the documents required to be submitted for reciprocity; and update formatting.
