The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on proposed changes to Title 468 of the Nebraska Administrative Code – Aid to Dependent Children. Title 468 governs the Aid to Dependent Children Program, which provides assistance to needy families so that children can be cared for in their own home and reduces the dependency of needy parents. The proposed changes remove direction to staff and duplicative statutory language from the regulations and restructure the title to condense the regulations from six chapters to five chapters. The proposed changes also update the vehicle purchase amount maximum to reflect the market area amounts; increase the maximum payment amount for Emergency Assistance to better resolve unexpected crisis situations and housing costs; and update formatting.
