The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on proposed changes to Title 180, Chapter 5 of the Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC) – Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic Operations. The chapter outlines requirements for the issuance of licenses or registration, and the safety requirements, for the industrial use of radioactive materials or x-ray tubes. The proposed changes remove the requirement that vehicles transporting radioactive material or radiation machines for use at temporary job sites prominently display on both sides of the vehicle the city and town where the main business office is located; transfer the exemption for certified or certifiable cabinet x-ray systems to 180 NAC 8; and remove any unnecessary language and duplicative statutory language from the regulation.
