The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on proposed changes to Title 180, Chapter 20 of the Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC) – Therapeutic Radiation Machines for Human Use. The chapter outlines the special requirements for use of therapeutic radiation machines. The proposed changes remove unnecessary definitions; remove the requirement for the Department to review and approve the training of an external beam radiation therapy worker prior to being allowed to work; remove requirements for a visiting authorized user; remove the requirement to report the results of external beam radiation therapy surveys and measurements within 30 days of completion; remove the requirement for a survey instrument for users of therapeutic radiation machines of less than 500 kV; remove the requirement for registrants to notify the equipment manufacturer if a patient has a medical emergency, suffers injury, or dies; and update formatting.
