The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on proposed changes to Title 395 Chapter 3 of the Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC)-Foster Care Licensure. These regulations govern the licensure of foster care parents. The proposed changes are based on updates to the Federal Model Home Licensing Standards and are not a change to current policy. The proposed regulations include: new safety provisions governing the foster family residence; new applicant requirements related to communication skills, health, income and resources, housing, and transportation; and updates to foster parent training curriculum.
