Labor Day Holiday

The Capitol will be open for public tours on Labor Day September 5 from 10:00 - 5:00 p.m., state offices will be closed.

911 Remembrance Ceremony

Lincoln Fire and Rescue will remember the firefighters and first responders who perished in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center with a solemn ceremony on the north plaza of the Nebraska State Capitol at 8:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend the remembrance.

The Nebraska Latino-American Commission is sponsoring a display in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol from September 30 - October 10, 2022 to celebrate Hispanic heritage and contributions to Nebraska.

Hispanic Heritage Month Commemoration

2nd Floor Rotunda

The Nebraska Latino-American Commission is sponsoring the 16th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Commemoration in the second floor rotunda of the Capitol from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 - October 15 annually.

Indigenous Peoples Day

The Capitol will be open for public tours on October 10 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to observe the Indigenous Peoples and Columbus Day holiday. State offices will be closed.

Spina Bifida Tower Lighting

The tower of the Capitol will be lit yellow on the evening of Friday October 14, 2022 to commemorate October as Spina Bifida Awareness Month.
