Celebrate Religious Freedom on July 4th

First Floor Display

The Lincoln Atheists and the Offutt Humanists will have an educational display celebrating the First Amendment to the United States Constitution in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol from June 27 to July 5, 2020.

Independence Day Holiday Observed

The Capitol will be open on July 3 and July 4 for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. State offices will be closed in observance of the holiday on July 3.

Lights of Hope

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services will celebrate hope and life at dusk with the Capitol illuminated with purple light as a symbol of the importance of life and hope those facing substance abuse and its tragic consequences.
