Rail Safety Education = Driver’s Education

First Floor Display

Nebraska Operation Lifesaver will share information on the importance of driver's education and focus on rail safety education in Nebraska in a first floor rotunda display from February 10 - 17, 2023.

Abraham Lincoln Birthday Vigil

Capitol Grounds

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will stand vigil at the Lincoln Monument on the West Plaza of the Nebraska State Capitol on Sunday February 12, 2023 from 8:00 am to noon to honor the nation's 16th president.

Glow Big Red

Capitol Grounds

The Nebraska State Capitol will be lit red February 14 and 15 to draw attention to the work of the University of Nebraska Foundation's support of the University of Nebraska.

Presidents’ Day

The Capitol will be open for tours on February 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. State offices will be closed.

Problem Gambling Awareness Month

First Floor Display

The Department of Health and Human Services and Creating Family Choices will display information regarding problem gambling and treatment from February 27 - March 3 in recognition of March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Display

First Floor Display

The Nebraska Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will have a display in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol from February 27 - March 3, 2023 to educate the public about suicide prevention activities.

Statehood Day Naturalization Ceremony

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Office will hold a Naturalization Ceremony in the second floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol on Nebraska Statehood Day, March 1, at 2:00 p.m.

State Fair Student Recognition

The NEBRASKAland Foundation will host the Annual State Fair Student Educational Competition Recognition Ceremony in the 2nd floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol on Friday March 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.

The NEBRASKAland Foundation will host the annual Nebraskaland Awards ceremony in the Capitol on Saturday March 4, 2023. The Capitol will be closed.
