Governor’s Excellence in State Service

2nd Floor Rotunda

Governor Pete Ricketts will honor Nebraska state employee's for their years of service in a day long 2nd floor rotunda program on Friday October 22, 2021.

Virtual Probation Officer Swearing-in Ceremony

The Administrative Offices of the Court and Probation will be swearing in new Probation Officers in a virtual ceremony on Friday October 22, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.

Red Ribbon Week

Capitol Grounds

The Drug Enforcement Administration - Omaha Division will raise awareness of the problems of drug use facing Nebraska communities with the Go Red for Red Ribbon drug-free life campaign kick-off with the Capitol tower being illuminated with red light.

Day of the Dead Exhibit

First Floor Display

The Nebraska Latino-American Commission will have an exhibit in the Capitol 1st floor rotunda to educate the public about the Day of the Dead holiday tradition.

Governor Pete Ricketts will honor Nebraska State employees for their years of service in the afternoon on October 27, 2021 in the Capitol 2nd floor Rotunda at 1:00 p.m.

Licensing Ceremony

2nd Floor Rotunda

The Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects will hold a ceremony for first-time licensed architects and engineers in the Capitol 2nd floor Rotunda on Friday November 5, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

2021 Veterans Parade

Capitol Grounds

The Lincoln Veterans Parade Group will hold the annual parade to honor Nebraska's veterans on Sunday November 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.  The parade will begin at 21st and and K Street and will move westward to the Capitol. There will a announcements and a program on the North Plaza during the parade.

Veterans Day Holiday

State Offices will be closed but the Capitol will be open for free guided tours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Governor Pete Ricketts will honor Nebraska state employees who have been chosen their agencies employee, supervisor and manager of the year in the Capitol 2nd floor Rotunda on Monday November 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
