Gettysburg Address Commemoration

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will commemorate Abraham Lincoln dedication of a battlefield cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on the West Plaza Lincoln Monument at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 21, 2020. They will be dressed in Civil War uniforms and conduct a historic period ceremony.

Public Health Worker Appreciation Day

The tower of the Nebraska State Capitol will be lit blue the evening of November 23, 2020 in appreciation of all the dedicated public health workers who have served and sacrificed to keep Nebraskans healthy during the coronavirus pandemic.

Thanksgiving and Friday Capitol Closed

The Capitol will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after. The Capitol will open again for tours on Saturday November 28 at 10:00 a.m.

Wreaths across America Proclamation

Thomas More Society Nativity Display

First Floor Display

The Thomas More Society will have a display featuring a representation of the scene of Jesus Christ's birth in the first floor rotunda from December 15th through 29th. There will be a small gathering to set up the display at 10:00 a.m. on December 15th.

NSP Camp 63 Graduation

2nd Floor Rotunda

The Nebraska State Patrol will hold their Camp 63 Graduation Ceremony in the 2nd floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol on Friday December 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

Capitol Closed Christmas Eve

Because President Trump declared Christmas Eve December 24th a federal holiday, the Nebraska State Capitol will be closed.

Rally to Support Farmers in India

Capitol Grounds

A group of University of Nebraska students will hold a rally on the north side of the Capitol to show support for farmers in India affected by the pandemic.
