Joel Jorgensen, Nebraska Game and Parks Nongame Bird Program Manager reports the carcass of male Peregrine Falcon, 19/K, was found in a residential yard here in Lincoln. 19/K had lived at the Capitol for almost 20 years before he disappeared in 2020. 19/K and the female Peregrine, Alley, had successfully fledged numerous eyas during their residency at the Capitol. Jorgensen reports a new male peregrine falcon or tercel has been been spotted at the Capitol, but has not yet attracted a female falcon to share the next box on top of the Capitol. Keep up with the activity in the Capitol’s Peregrine Falcon nest box by watching Nebraska Game and Parks PEREGRINE FALCONCAM.
