Each year the Nebraska Art Teachers Association displays artwork by Nebraska’s state-wide student artists at the Capitol. At the end of the exhibition the Nebraska Art Teachers Association (NATA) holds an awards celebration in the Capitol Rotunda to honor the first place and honorable mention student’s artwork in each of the three categories: Elementary Level, Pre-K to Grade 5; Middle Level, Grades 6 to 8; and High School Level, Grades 9 to 12. This year, because of the pandemic, NATA is presenting the exhibit and awards in a video presentation. The pandemic may have stopped the Capitol exhibit, but it did not stop student creativity. The artwork chosen for display shows the talent of Nebraska’s young artists, as guided by their art teachers, is as prevalent as ever. Nebraska’s students have created amazing beauty for us to enjoy. A slide show of the student work is available for study and admiration.
