Free guided public tours of the Nebraska State Capitol have resumed following the Governor’s recommendations for keeping healthy during the COVID19 pandemic. Guides will be wearing face shields to protect visitors as they provide tours and will maintain a proper 6 foot social distance from visitors. Visitors are encouraged to follow CDC recommendations and maintain a 6 foot social distance from other individuals and family groups while on tour and in the Capitol. When and where a proper social distance is not possible Capitol visitors are encouraged to wear a simple cloth face covering. The two north elevators leading to the 14th floor observation decks and Memorial Chamber are very small and all visitors are encouraged to wear a cloth mask and only use the elevators in family groups.
Hand sanitizer is available at the first floor information desk. Capitol staff are cleaning frequently touched surfaces twice daily. Public restrooms for hand washing are located in pairs on the outside corners of the ground floor, men’s on the north and south sections of the outer square base, and women’s rest rooms on the east and west sides of the outer base.
