10:30 am to 1:00 pm Actor Portrayals of Willa Cather, Chief Standing Bear & William “Buffalo Bill” Cody with Music by Nebraska High School Students 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm Pony Express Statehood Proclamation Delivery West Side, Nebraska State Capitol 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Official Statehood Day Ceremony George W. Norris Legislative Chamber Seating at the State Capitol is open and limited. Early arrival is recommended. Overflow seating will be available in the Rotunda and Warner Chamber during the Official Ceremony at 2 p.m., which will be live streamed at netnebraska.org. The events at the Capitol will be followed by a special 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Grand Opening of the “Legacy of Nebraska” Exhibit at the Nebraska History Museum at 131 Centennial Mall North ~ Lincoln Happy Birthday Nebraska. The Statehood Day events are sponsored by the NE150 Commission. The Nebraska State Capitol will be closed on Saturday March 4th for special Statehood Day activities, and will reopen for guided tours on Sunday March 5th at 1:00 p.m.
