The festive holiday tree in the Capitol Rotunda is decorated and lit. In a wonderful ceremony on December 6th, Governor Pete Ricketts and a host of youngsters flipped the switch to light the Official State Tree and usher in the holiday season at the Capitol. The tree and holiday music will again be the focus during a noontime concert on Tuesday December 15th . The annual tuba and euphonium concert will fill the rotunda with holiday carols specially arranged for the big brass instruments. The Capitol tree will remain on view until the week after Christmas. If you want to be sure to see the tree is all its splendor, make plans to come prior to Christmas Day, or the Saturday and Sunday after Christmas. Depending upon weather conditions and timing, the tree will come down before New Year’s Eve. The Capitol will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
