Now that the Exterior Masonry Restoration Project is complete all four sides of the 14th floor observation level are open to the public. It has been 12 years since visitors could view all four directions from the top of the Nebraska State Capitol. Visitors to the Capitol and observation decks may have an opportunity to see or hear the pair of Peregrine Falcons which have taken up residence on the upper reaches of the Capitol’s tower. With the Spring season comes their mating season. Nebraska’s Game and Parks Commission has mounted a web camera near the nest box. Those interested can view the monitor on the ground floor of the Capitol or watch from home.
