Capitol Events

The Nebraska Music Education Association will host a Wesleyan University vocal group in the 2nd floor rotunda of the Capitol on March 31, at 12:00.

The United States Navy Band Northwest quintet will perform an hour long concert in the 2nd floor rotunda of he Nebraska State Capitol on Friday April 4, 2025.

The Nebraska Music Education Association will sponsor Nebraska school vocal and instrumental group concerts in the second floor rotunda on April 9.

I've Got A Name will walk to the Capitol from the Nebraska Student Union University on April 12 and hold a rally with speakers on the north plaza from  10:30 a.m.  to noon to draw awareness to sex trafficking in Nebraska and across the nation and then walk back to the Nebraska Union.

The Nebraska State Capitol will be open normal public hours as the Unicameral Legislature will be in session. Public tours will be given on the holiday schedule, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Arbor Day tree planting ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m. on the southwest lawn.

The University of Nebraska Lincoln's Out of the Darkness group and the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention Nebraska will gather at the University City Campus Union at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday April 27, 2025 and then walk to the Capitol's North Plaza for a program. The Jewish Federation of Lincoln and the Institute for Holocaust Education will hold the annual State Holocaust Commemoration in the 2nd floor rotunda on Sunday April 27 at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will include poetry, readings, choral music, and a keynote speaker.

The United States Department of Labor's Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration recognizes a day to remember fallen and injured workers in Nebraska nd across the United States. Nebraska's remembrance will occur on the north plaza of the Capitol on April 28 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The Lincoln Track Club will host thousands of students in a 1 mile Fun Run around the Capitol on May 3. Students from different age groups will run at different times beginning at 8:00 a.m. Roads around the Capitol will be closed for this event.
