Capitol Events

Weather and roof conditions permitting the tower of the Capitol will be lit red the evening of February 14 for the University of Nebraska Foundation's annual 24 hours of Husker Giving event.

The Nebraska Voter Accuracy Project and Concerned Citizens of NE will host a day long display in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol.  The group will demonstrate processes involved with hand counting procedures for elections from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Nebraska State Capitol will be open for holiday schedule tours.  State offices will be closed.

Nebraska Moms Demand Action will have an informational display in the first floor rotunda on February 22, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Omaha Field Office will host a Citizenship Naturalization Ceremony in the second floor rotunda at 9:00 a.m. on Statehood Day March 1, 2024.

The NebraskaLAND Foundation will present awards to Nebraska State Fair poster contest winners at 1:30 p.m. in a second floor rotunda ceremony on March 1, 2024.

The Nebraska State Capitol will be closed to the public to allow for special statehood activities.
