The I've Got a Name advocacy group will walk from the University of Nebraska Student Union to the Capitol on Sunday October 6 and hold a program on the north plaza from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. and then return to campus.

2nd floor rotunda Celebration of Hispanic Heritage in Nebraska from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.  sponsored by the Latino American Commission.

State offices are closed, but the Capitol will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Columbus Day.

Nebraska Probation Officer Swearing-in Ceremony in the 2nd floor rotunda at 1:30 p.m. sponsored by the Administrative Office of Probation

The Administrative Office of Probation will hold a swearing in ceremony for new probation officers in the 2nd floor rotunda at 1:30 p.m.

The Center for Operational Excellence will recognize Nebraska government staff who have successfully completed the Sigma Six Green Belt trainng.

PERIOD will hold a rally on the north plaza of the Nebraska State Capitol from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The Nebraska Department of Education encourages everyone in the state to "crunch" a carrot, apple or other crunchy produce at 2:00 p.m. as part of the Mountain Plains nine state celebration of October as Farm to School Month. The event will take place on the Capitol's steps and other locations across the state.

The Governor will make proclamations in the Warner Chamber at 9:30 a.m.
