Day of the Dead Exhibit
The Nebraska Latino-American Commission is sponsoring a Day of the Dead exhibit in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol from October 24 - November 4. The Day of the Dead exhibit will focus on the culture, art history and significance of traditional Latin American holiday.
Veterans Are Atheists Too Display
The Capitol will be open for public tours on Friday November 11, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the Veterans Day holiday. The Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs will have the tower of the Capitol lit green from dusk until 10:30 p.m. to honor veterans. State offices will be closed.
The Lincoln Veterans Parade Group is holding the 2022 Veterans Parade along K Street on Sunday November 13. The Nebraska Department of Education Center for Student Leadership and Expanded Learning will honor students who have excelled in vocational education in a 2nd floor rotunda ceremony on Monday November 21, 2022 from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Capitol Closed Thanksgiving and Friday After
The Capitol will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24 and 25, 2022. The Capitol will reopen for regularly scheduled guided tours on Saturday November 26 at 10:00 p.m.
