Capitol’s Falcon named Orozco

The Peregrine Falcon pair that has been nesting at the Nebraska State Capitol produced one eyas (baby chick) this year. The young male was officially named last Friday in a ceremony on the Capitol’s north plaza. Four people submitted the name that was chosen by voters from several finalists on the Game and Parks website. The soon to be off on his own falcon was named Orozco after fallen Omaha Police Officer Kerrie Orozco, killed in the line of duty this past May.
