Public Hearings Begin

The senators in the 104th Legislature First Session are concluding the introduction of bills and public hearings have begun. Each bill introduced will have a public hearing according to the schedule set by the committees. There are 14 standing committees which meet in assigned hearing rooms on assigned days of the week. The public is welcome to testify on any bill introduced and scheduled for a public hearing. The Legislative session and some of the committee hearings are broadcast live via NET web streaming video. Information about the legislative session in available on the Nebraska Legislature website. Those planning to attend a public hearing should allow extra time to find parking near the Capitol. Parking is available in the residential areas south, east and west of the Capitol and in public parking garages throughout the downtown area. The Nebraska Capitol Cafe offers a breakfast menu and a lunch grill and sandwich menu, a hot entree and soups and salads. The Nebraska Capitol Cafe is open to the public Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
