Lincoln’s Modern Architecture

Bertram Goodhue’s Nebraska State Capitol is considered the nation’s first modern Capitol. Since 1932 it has inspired architecture and design in downtown Lincoln. Lincoln’s other modern buildings and the architects who designed them are the subject of a series of programs sponsored by the Sheldon Museum of Art and the Nebraska Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The program series, BUILDING the MODERN, is part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Philip Johnson’s Sheldon Museum of Art.
