Parking for Lincoln Monument Centennial Program

While there probably won’t be 10,000 people on hand for the September 2, 2012 centennial of the Lincoln Monument dedication, as there was in 1912, the parking lot south of the Capitol will be open just in case on street parking around the Capitol is in short supply. The south lot can be entered from G Street or 16th Street. The south entrance, and all other first floor ground level entrances will be open at 1:00 p.m. Those arriving early will be able to view the exhibit in first floor rotunda before going up to the Warner Chamber for the program at 2:00 p.m. the Capitol will remain open until 5:00 p.m. giving attendees an opportunity to view the exhibit after the program concludes at 3:00 p.m. The Landmark Store at the Capitol will be open following the program until 3:45 p.m.
