Arbor Day

The Nebraska State Capitol will be open for holiday schedule tours.  State offices will be closed.

Nebraska Annual Workers’ Memorial Day Vigil

The United Support Memorial for Workplace Fatalities is sponsoring the annual vigil to honor men and women who have bee killed or fatally injured at work on the north plaza of the Capitol the evening of Sunday April 28, 2024 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Kloefkorn Chorus Concert

2nd Floor Rotunda

The Kloefkorn Elementary Chorus will perform in the 2nd floor rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. on Monday April 29, 2024 under the direction of Melissa Moates.

Mayor’s Run

The Lincoln Track Club will host thousands of students in a fun run in the streets around the exterior of the Nebraska State Capitol on Saturday May 4, 2024. Races will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.

State Holocaust Commemoration

2nd Floor Rotunda

The Jewish Federation of Lincoln and the Institute for Holocaust Education will hold the annual State Holocaust Commemoration in the second floor rotunda of the Capitol on Sunday May 5, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The program will include readings, poetry, a choir, keynote speaker and symbolic candle lighting ceremony.

DHHS Service Awards Ceremony

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services will present staff awards for Department Values and Core Competencies in the second floor rotunda on Monday May 6, 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
