Governor’s Excellence in Service Awards

Day of the Dead Exhibit

First Floor Display

The Commission on Latino-Americans will have an educational exhibit in the first floor rotunda of the Capitol in celebration of the November 1 Day of the Dead. The exhibit will be on display from October27 - November 3, 2023.

Red Ribbon Week Rally

McPhee Elementary School students will march around the Capitol on October 27 at 2:30 p.m. with a stop on the north steps to recite a drug free pledge before they return to the school.

NBEA Capitol Ceremony

The Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects will hold a licensing ceremony in the 2nd floor rotunda of the Capitol on Friday November 3 at 3:00 p.m.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Lighting

The Pancreatic Cancer Association is sponsoring the Capitol's tower to be lit purple during the evenings of November 3 - 5, 2023 to draw awareness to Pancreatic Cancer.

Veterans Are Atheists Too Display

First Floor Display

The Lincoln Atheists and Omaha Humanists will have an educational display about the First Amendment freedoms that Veterans have fought and died to protect in the first floor rotunda November 5 - 12, 2023.

Veterans Day

The State of Nebraska will be open at 10:00 a.m. for Veterans Day holiday hours on November 10. The Capitol's tower will be lit green on Saturday November 11 to honor veterans at the request of the Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs.
